Our First Season Snow

Yesterday was the first snow of the season. It was so pretty and my niece couldn't wait to get out there and eat the snow.

My cat Tux even likes to be out in the snow for a short while. He dives for the snow flakes...I've never seen a cat that likes to play in the snow!

100's of Black birds!

I love our back yard in the fall. The trees this year were just breath taking! I think this has been one of the prettiest falls I have seen here! While I was take these pictures a HUGE flock of black birds flew in and covered the trees! I felt like I was in the movie The Birds...a Hitchcock film. There were 100's of black birds. My pictures do not do it justice at all!

We did our own hair!

My Niece did her own hair...she just cracks me up! She has been bouncing off the walls today! I'm surprised she went down for a nap!!!

1. My favorite place to be is the BEACH!

2. I love Antiques (I go shopping at my dad's house a lot)

4. My hubby calls me Laura Ingalls because I like to stack our fire wood for the winter.

7. I hate my birthday...not because of getting older...I don't like to be the center of attention!

Went shopping

We were cleaning out my grandmother's house with my grandmother a few weekends ago. She gave me some really cool stuff! My grandmother lives in the nursing home now and she will never go back to her house to live again. Just the thought of that just makes me want to cry. I remember going to her house every weekend. Every Friday night she would make fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn. YUUUMMMMYYYYY!!! Fating but oh so good!!!

My Easel

I am so very excited about my new easel. A very dear friend of mine volunteered her husband to make us an easel. It has made taking pictures of my layouts so much easier. I know I will be using it a lot. Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I just love it!

Faux Crab Cakes

I saw Paula Dean make this on one of her shows

Oil, for frying

2 (6-ounce) Cans tuna fish
1 egg, beaten
2 Tablespoons diced green onions
1/4 Cup Mayonnaise
1/2 Cup bread Crumbs
Lemon juice, optional
2 teaspoons Old Bay, optional

*To make it even better add Old Bay to the recipe...It really kicks it up! You don't need to add a lot because Old Bay can get a little Salty.

Heat 1-inch of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. While oil is heating up combine tuna, beaten egg, green onions, Mayonnaise, 1/4 cup bread crumbs, and lemon juice to taste, if desired. Form into patties and dust with additional bread crumbs. When oil is hot, fry patties until golden brown, about 2 minutes on each side. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels before serving.

Gettysburg

DD and I went away for a long weekend to Gettysburg PA. On our way up DD and I bought some bikes. DD picked out mountain bike and I pick out a beach cruiser. DD and I were able to check out some Monuments we hadn’t seen before because we were on our bikes. We really had a great time riding on the trails and checking out the Monuments.
We have a list of things we want to do next time we go. Gettysburg is a fun and relaxing little town. I just LOVE it!

Eating at the Spring House Tavern in the Dobbin House. This is our favorite restaurant in the town. If you like French Onion soup, they have the best ever!! We look forward to getting it every time we go in to eat. Yuuummmmyyyy!!!

Pumpkin Patch

My Brother and I took the girls to the pumpkin patch on Monday. They had a blast and we hope to go again before the seasons over.
